Electronic
media found me in 2000, displaced, having lost a life, nomad expelled
from a former world, after waking nightmares. The net space was
a refuge that saved my life. I nearly could not breathe, I could
not speak, I disappeared into pixels, oxygenated; inside the net
my nightmare visualizations of post trauma might be recast electronically.
Naxsmash is the process work that came from this crisis, from inside
the net and out into performance and installation. Naxsmash traces
a place built from a breath inside a screen—as if, the woman,
cyborg is breathing through pixels. Nascent +/- destructive, smashed
into alive.
